Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, please tell us. Corrections are acted on rather than quietly ignored, and substantive ones are noted on the page.

The most useful correction includes the page, the specific claim, and a source. We change ratings and guidance on evidence.

Challenging a food rating

Our food records carry a verdict, a reason, an evidence level and sources. If you disagree with one, bring the source and we will look at it properly.

The ratings most likely to attract challenge are the ones where we differ from common advice, particularly dandelion at moderation rather than regular, and daisies on the avoid list. Both are explained on their own pages, and both would change if the evidence changed.

Suggesting a food

The food checker covers 105 foods and searches that return nothing are logged automatically, which is how we decide what to research next.

If there is something you look up repeatedly and cannot find, tell us directly and it will move up the list.

Veterinary and specialist input

We actively want review from qualified exotics and reptile veterinarians, and from experienced chelonian keepers.

If you are qualified and willing to review our health-adjacent pages, please get in touch. Reviewers are named on the pages they review, with their credentials, as set out in our sources and review policy.

Commercial enquiries

We do not accept payment for coverage, placement, sponsored posts or manufacturer-supplied content. That is not negotiable and is set out in our affiliate disclosure.

Legitimate commercial enquiries, such as product specification queries or correcting outdated composition data on our pages, are welcome.

What we cannot help with

We cannot advise on a sick tortoise. We are not veterinarians, and diagnosing an animal we have not examined would be irresponsible. If your tortoise is unwell, contact a reptile-experienced vet. See our veterinary disclaimer.

We cannot identify plants from photographs. Getting that wrong has consequences, and it is not a service we are equipped to provide reliably.

We cannot recommend a specific quantity to feed your animal. Portion depends on species, age, size and season, and any number we invented would be worth less than nothing.
