Our policy on credentials

We state what contributors actually are, not what would look best.

Nobody on this site is described as a veterinarian, a reptile specialist or an expert unless they hold the relevant qualification and it can be checked. We do not use vague phrases such as “our team of experts” or “reviewed by professionals” to imply oversight that has not happened.

If a page has been reviewed by a qualified professional, that person is named on the page with their credentials. If it has not, no reviewer is claimed.

Corrections from veterinarians, chelonian specialists and experienced keepers are genuinely welcome, and we act on them. If you have spotted an error or want to challenge a food rating, bring the source and we will look at it. See contact.

Our research standards are set out in the editorial policy, and how food records are sourced and rated is covered in the sources and review policy.
